June 6, 2020 – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Raleigh Pro League will not operate in 2020. It was a tough decision for the league and disappointing for many of the players, fans, and sponsors, but under the circumstances, it is the right thing to do.
“I’m sure we could operate the league in a safe manner for the players, but the RPL is a fan based league and without the fans, its just not the Raleigh Pro League” says Bill Edwards, Raleigh Pro League Director, “We’ll take this year off and plan to come back strong next year when everyone can feel safe while enjoying the Raleigh Pro League”.
Tennis has been shown to be a safer activity during the COVID-19 pandemic and exercise is important to boost the immunity system. Hopefully, folks are able to get out and play following safe play guidelines. We all look forward to the return of the Raleigh Pro League in 2021.
